Description

BDI's CivicPulse UTH survey reveals that experiences of local officials around hostility remain widespread and on par with last quarter. Yet, the proportion of local elected officials reporting negative impacts of hostility on their willingness to engage in political and civic behaviors largely increased in Q3 2025. Subgroup analysis revealed that women and Democrats reported (1) higher levels of experienced hostility, (2) increased concern about hostility, and (3) greater negative impacts of hostility compared to their counterparts.
